The Drugs & Firearms act 2008 is an effort to cut down on the illegal trafficking, possession etc of drugs and firearms.


Section 1

The following offences are now carrying a 0.5 hour prison sentence with a $30,000 fine;


*Possession of firearm materials
*Actively trafficking firearms
*Attempting to sell firearms
*Possession of an illegal firearm
*Brandishing an illegal firearm
*Discharging an illegal firearm
*Possession of drug materials and intent to supply


Section 2

The following offences are now carrying a 15 minutes prison sentence with a $20,000 fine;

*Possession of drugs
*Showing an interest to purchase illegal firearms or drugs
*Advertising a drug or firearm supplier
